The Slow Resistance Training (SRT) method, featured in our upcoming training with Piper Michelle, is a versatile approach that can be applied to any reformer.
SRT is a high-intensity, low-impact workout method that builds strength and endurance through slow, controlled movements. Instead of counting reps, exercises are performed based on time under tension, which eliminates momentum and maximizes muscle engagement. Every movement is driven purely by muscular effort, ensuring precise activation and control.
The outcome? A full-body workout that effectively targets slow-twitch muscle fibers, boosting endurance, core strength, and total body control.
-
This training is tailored to the X-Former, the equipment we have at The Practice. With that being said, The core SRT principles can be applied to any reformer with a carriage and springs, or even modified for sliders and a mat at home.
This training goes beyond movement mechanics. You'll develop the ability to coach with confidence and clarity, creating a supportive, empowering space where students feel seen, motivated, and capable of growth.
You'll learn to guide clients through slow, focused, high-intensity/low-impact exercises that protect the joints while building strength, endurance, flexibility, and stability. SRT is rooted in mindful movement, designed to enhance body awareness, control, and resilience.By completing this training, you'll gain a deeper connection to your own practice while empowering others to do the same.
-
For those of you familiar with the Lagree Method, the SRT principles are the same foundational concepts.
